The secrets of the ‘Sisterhood’

While I’m still on a little picture hunt for the latest Alexis pictures, I came across this interesting interview:
CNN came to the junket for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 to ask questions of stars Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel and Blake Lively.
Tamblyn decided to turn the tables. “What’s it like to work with Sanjay Gupta?” she asked. “What’s it like to work with Anderson Cooper?” Well, the thing is, not everyone at CNN gets to work with Cooper and Dr. Gupta, so we couldn’t give her colorful answers. But Tamblyn didn’t mind. She just wanted to show she’s a fan. “CNN is my MTV,” she said. We appreciate the enthusiasm. The four actresses are justifiably enthusiastic about their own careers. All four have starred in past or current TV shows: Tamblyn in “Joan of Arcadia,” Ferrera in “Ugly Betty,” Bledel in “Gilmore Girls” and Lively in “Gossip Girl.” It’s another bond between the women, who characterize each other as friends. In two separate interviews — one with Tamblyn and Ferrera, the other with Bledel and Lively — the four answered questions about stardom at a young age, what they admire about Traveling Pants and each other’s secrets. The following is a combined and edited version of the interviews. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Sisters’ recognize their responsibilities as role models

I just returned from the hospital and feelin’ a bit better by now. Thanks for your concern!
Back to Alexis: In an era when young Hollywood has gone wild, the Sisterhood remains mild. Perhaps Britney and Lindsay should share a pair of worn pants. Such a garment seems to have had a great effect on young and rising actresses Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel. Lively, long blond hair flowing, ponders her lack of trouble in the tabloids. “I grew up with the mind-set that after work you go to dinner and watch a movie,” Lively says. “I don’t want to go to a club and not wear panties.” Co-star Ferrera pipes in, “I don’t know who in this group has the time to get in trouble, because I sure don’t. I have dogs to walk and songs to load into my iPod. That’s my exciting life.” Bledel and Tamblyn are equally good girls who have not even merited an Enquirer cover. “I have a general disinterest in that life. It’s not interesting to me,” says the cerebral Tamblyn. “I’m a pretty low-key person.” Read the rest of this entry »

On hiatus!

Alexis Bledel films on the set of her latest movie, The Good Guy, in New York City on August 04. The 26-year-old Gilmore Girls star plays the love interest of Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights). Porter’s character, Tommy Fielding is a rising young star on Wall Street who has it all: success, smarts, good looks, and a budding romance which could finally be the real thing. But when a seemingly hapless co-worker befriends his new girlfriend, Tommy becomes the unwitting agent of his own downfall, or so it seems. Thanks to JustJared for these infos!
Otherwise, I’m putting this site on a little hiatus. I have to check into a hospital for the next 3 weeks and won’t be able to update this site. Don’t worry, we’re back real soon to offer you the latest on our favourite beauty!

In Step With…Alexis Bledel

Alexis is featured in the latest issue of Parade Magazine. Here’s what they have to say on her:

Personal
Born Sept. 16, 1981, in Houston, Tex. Single.
Why You Know Her
She played the intelligent and introspective only daughter of a single mom for seven years on Gilmore Girls.
What You Don’t Know
Growing up, Alexis spoke Spanish first. She didn’t learn English until she began attending school.
For seven years, she starred on the hit series Gilmore Girls. Now 26, the lovely but shy Alexis Bledel is focused on the big screen. She has a new movie coming out from Fox called The Post-Grad Survival Guide and an independent film called The Good Guy. But you can see her returning to theaters right now with those magical blue jeans in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, based on a popular young-adult book series about four friends. On a recent day off, Alexis conceded, “Part 1 wasn’t necessarily big at the box office, but the DVD was huge. In Part 2, we [the four girls who share a friendship and those extraordinary pants] are all a little older, and we’re off to college and new challenges.” Read the rest of this entry »

Back To Traveling Pants

Actress Alexis Bledel Thrives On A Breakneck Work Schedule, And That’s A Good Thing Lately
When the makers of the original “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” movie saw that their sequel option was expiring, the preparation went into hyperspeed. “It was hectic; it was crazy,” Alexis Bledel says. “It was evolving as we were shooting it.” What could have been unnerving was business as usual for Bledel. From 2000 to 2007, she conquered the fluid domain of series television as the pragmatic yet ambitious Rory Gilmore, who had machine-gun banter with her single mom on “Gilmore Girls.” “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2,” opening Wednesday, is Bledel’s first movie since the WB drama comedy went off the air. She will appear in Fox Atomic’s “The Post-Grad Survival Manual” next year. “I like change,” she says. “So going from one job to another is really exciting for me after all these years.” Bledel turns 27 in September and looks like the same Rory, with otherworldly blue eyes that invite the corniest of metaphors.
