On June 17, Alexis Bledel arrived on the concrete “carpet”, as The Whitney Contemporaries host the Art Party and Auction benefiting the Whitney Museum of American Art’s Independent Study Program and Educational Initiatives at Skylight Studios in Soho, NYC. The 27-year-old former Gilmore Girls star will be starring in the upcoming summer film, Post Grad. In a recent interview discussing the film, she talked about her former character on Gilmore Girls, compared to the character she played in Post Grad. “Well, as the years went by on Gilmore Girls, I noticed that Rory was kind of like an idealized product of the show’s imagination because she was really perfect in a lot of ways, which started to annoy me a bit, but you have to keep playing the character,” she said. “But Ryden -– I think she’s much more relatable in a lot of ways and this character’s story picks up in the same stage of life where Rory left off, graduating from college,” Alexis told North by Northwestern. “So for anyone who likes the show, its kind of -– it’s a continuation in a way, but she’s a completely different girl because she makes a lot of mistakes. She has a very typical college experience. She’s kind of an average girl, and I can relate much more to her.

Former Gilmore Girl Alexis Bledel works out a dress with cut-out detail as she walks the red carpet at the premiere of The Good Guy during the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival at SVA Theater in New York City on April 26. The 27-year-old blue-eyed babe recently was asked about Broadway and said, “Yeah, I’ve been thinking about that. I’ve gone to see five or six plays in the last couple months. I saw August: Osage County, and of course Lauren Graham in Guys and Dolls. I hadn’t seen a lot of shows since I was a kid, so I’ve been kind of reeducating myself and it’s been a lot of fun!” At the after-party, JustJared asked Alexis who designed her gorgeous dress. She whipped a cheat sheet out of her clutch and spelled out the designer’s name. “C-U-S-H-N-I-E E-T O-C-H-S.” Yes, Cushnie et Ochs. It was a glorious moment having Rory Gilmore spell a word considering the fast-paced dialogue she had on Gilmore Girls.

Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel attended the 8th Annual Tribeca Film Festival – Chanel Dinner at the Odeon on Thursday (April 23) in New York City, NY. She wore a navy satin dress from the Chanel Fall/Winter 2008/09 Ready-to-Wear collection and Chanel Fine Jewelry Profil de Camelia hoops in 18k white gold, Ultra black bracelet in 18k white gold, black ceramic, Ultra white bracelet in 18k white gold, white ceramic & diamonds and the Premiere ceramic in steel, diamonds & black ceramic. The 27-year-old actress stars in The Good Guy, which is being screened at the Tribeca Film Festival. Alexis plays the love interest of Tommy Fielding (Scott Porter) who is riding a streak of good fortune and a budding romance but then takes a hapless co-worker under his wing.
