Alexis Bledel Loves American Art

On June 17, Alexis Bledel arrived on the concrete “carpet”, as The Whitney Contemporaries host the Art Party and Auction benefiting the Whitney Museum of American Art’s Independent Study Program and Educational Initiatives at Skylight Studios in Soho, NYC. The 27-year-old former Gilmore Girls star will be starring in the upcoming summer film, Post Grad. In a recent interview discussing the film, she talked about her former character on Gilmore Girls, compared to the character she played in Post Grad. “Well, as the years went by on Gilmore Girls, I noticed that Rory was kind of like an idealized product of the show’s imagination because she was really perfect in a lot of ways, which started to annoy me a bit, but you have to keep playing the character,” she said. “But Ryden -– I think she’s much more relatable in a lot of ways and this character’s story picks up in the same stage of life where Rory left off, graduating from college,” Alexis told North by Northwestern. “So for anyone who likes the show, its kind of -– it’s a continuation in a way, but she’s a completely different girl because she makes a lot of mistakes. She has a very typical college experience. She’s kind of an average girl, and I can relate much more to her.

“Post Grad” The Novel

Alexis Bledel’s upcoming movie, Post Grad, has released a novel! Post Grad, the film, will be out in August, but you can read up on the story now in the Post Grad Novel or Audiobook. The story, and film, tell the story of Ryden Malby (Alexis Bledel), a recent college grad whose aspirations include landing her dream job at a publishing house and living in a posh apartment. Sadly, things don’t work out that way. Ryden’s college nemesis grabs her perfect job and Ryden is left with no choice but to move back home. Stuck with her eccentric family and no job prospects, Ryden feels like her life is going nowhere. The only things keeping her together are her best friend Adam (Zach Gilford) and her next-door neighbor, David (Rodrigo Santoro). Zach Gilford Praises Alexis Bledel

Post Grad co-star Zach Gilford recently sang her praises in an interview. During the interview, Zach was asked how it was to work with Alexis Bledel. He replies: “She’s so cool and normal and down to earth. I was so fortunate. We’ve remained pretty good friends. My family, they’re all huge Gilmore Girls fans, so they were freaking out when they found out I was working with her. And I had never even seen an episode. And I was like, “She’s cool, she’s normal.” She’s like the sweetest, nicest person ever.” Zach continues, saying that many actors who have been on a show for so long could end up with an inflated ego. However, Zach says that Alexis “keeps her head about her”, avoiding the club scene and keeping her work life and her life separate in a “professional way.” Zach says he really respects that about Alexis. Sisterhood of the traveling pants 2 on HBO

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 will be aired on HBO on Sunday, June 7, at 6 p.m. The movie which has a duration of 2 hours, will get a repeat telecast on Tuesday 12:30 p.m and 8 p.m. The rating for the movie is PG-13 (Not recommended for pre teens). It is the sequel to the 2005 movie Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. The first part will be aired on Sunday, June 7, on Life at 4 p.m. The first movie had a viewership rating of PG (Parental Guidance). The Sisterhood movies star young talents like Blake Lively (Gossip Girl), America Ferrera (Ugly Betty), Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel and others. The movie is directed by Sanaa Hamri. The first story centres around four friends who have to spend their time away during summer and how they keep in touch throughout by passing amidst themselves a pair of second hand blue jeans. In the sequel, the story unfolds 3 years later. The four friends have now moved to college and are in their first year. They still keep alive on the legacy of the Sisterhood they had formed 3 years ago. The plot catches them just before the summer ahead, and the promise of another adventurous journey lingers in the air. They keep up their bond even though being physically and share their problems and their secrets, all via the pair of magic pants. The power of their friendship only strengthens more as they realize and adhere more value to it and bask in the glow of the close bonds. The four sub plots follow each of the four girls- Carmen Lowell,Lena Kaligaris, Tibby Tomko-Rollins and Bridget Vreeland, and weave it together in one intertwined plot.
